Educated women are dangerous.
Reading is how we remember our power.

Let’s be honest… the world would be lost without women. And far too often, we aren’t given the same respect as men.

Women are forgotten to history. Women do so much invisible labor. Women have more labels. Women “feel too much”.

It’s okay to feel a little angry…. and yet still hopeful.
It’s okay to love to read… and read whatever you want without shame or judgment.
It’s okay to say big dreams out loud… even if others find them frivolous or you’re even just afraid they’ll find them frivolous.
It’s okay to be ambitious… and feel empowered in that.

Thinking for yourself is one of the most radical things you can do. It helps you step into your power as a woman.

This is where you can build your mind, confidence, and community without it meaning only nonfiction.

The Reading Room is more than just a book club.

To find female empowerment in any genre, not just nonfiction.

What you’ll get

A monthly book club

1

A monthly book club discussion with books that span genres, time periods, and authors. We want to be educated because we know that’s a part of rebellion, and it’s not just nonfiction that educates. We want books that remind us to celebrate the beauty that is girlhood and the power of community and connection. We’re women who want to be disgustingly overeducated because it’s a way to stand up for yourself and step into your power. Our characters are strong women we can look up to, just like our community.

Personal Essays

2

My personal thoughts on how this book relates to politics and pop culture, because we can be interested in both. My own reflections on how I’m becoming more like Elle Woods because I can like pink and be a badass who plays a fundamental part in history.

Themes to expect: feminism, shopping small, the power of education, being your highest self, etc.

A Forgotten Woman Feature

3

Each month will feature a woman who broke the glass ceiling, yet has been forgotten to history. These women are the unsung heroes whose names are missing from the history books. These are women in the arts and sciences. Women who have led rebellions and revolutions. Women who continue to inspire us with their contributions.

Empowerment

4

A look into the other forms of literacy, like financial literacy that empower you to be independent
A creative space to share your own reflections and writing
